John is the Chief Information Officer of Columbia Forest Products, the leading manufacturer of hardwood plywood and veneer in North America. In this role, John oversees all aspects of Information Technology, driving the company’s digital strategy, business transformation, and IT operations across multiple manufacturing locations and business units.
Prior to joining Columbia Forest Products in 2024, John served as the CIO of the Electric Thermal Solutions (ETS) division of FTSE 100 Spirax Sarco starting in 2020. At ETS, a $500M+ division with approximately 3,000 employees and 19 manufacturing locations across eight countries, John defined and executed an IT strategy aligned with the overarching business strategy. He successfully fostered a global “One Team” culture across what were previously four privately held businesses and led his team of 40+ through a strategic transformation, including four IT M&A integrations and a global business transformation program encompassing CRM, ERP, and Data.
John began his career supporting a large enterprise systems landscape at Fortune 100 manufacturer Alcoa. He then moved to Fortune 500 WESCO Distribution, where he led a large, diverse application solutions team delivering business-critical strategic initiatives. At WESCO, John spearheaded a transformation program aimed at modernizing the legacy branch-oriented distribution system. In both organizations, John advanced through a series of increasingly senior roles, building his leadership experience and technical expertise.
John’s expertise spans IT strategy, enterprise applications, data, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and IT operations. His passion for solving complex problems and driving business alignment through technology has been a hallmark of his career.
John holds a double major in Marketing and Information Systems Management from the Duquesne University Palumbo-Donahue School of Business. He resides north of Pittsburgh with his wife and three children, balancing the challenges of an enterprise IT leadership career with family life.
