CISO, dōTERRA International
Eric Sorenson is an experienced Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and technology executive with over 23 years of leadership in cybersecurity, IT strategy, and regulatory compliance.
He was recruited as the first CISO at dōTERRA International following a significant third-party data breach, where he led immediate incident response efforts and established a long-term security culture, technical strategy, and governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) programs. Eric also led IT and security initiatives at Arches Health Plan and served as Information Security Officer for HealthEquity, Inc., the nation’s largest dedicated health savings trustee managing over $20.5 billion in assets.
Earlier in his career, he held roles at Zions Bancorporation and IBM, gaining extensive experience across finance, healthcare, and technology sectors. He is well-versed in enacting policies, procedures, and safeguards to ensure compliance with HITECH, HIPAA, PCI, ISO 27001/2, GLBA, and global privacy regulations.
Originally from Orange County, California, Eric earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Information Systems from Utah State University and an M.B.A. from Westminster College..
