In order to provide a high quality and enjoyable conference for all, the CIO Initiative Summit has developed a code of conduct expected to be agreed to and followed by all attendees, including staff, partners, sponsors, speakers, and other participants.


The CIO Initiative believes that our community should be professional, respectful, safe, and welcoming to all.  We are committed to providing a friendly environment for all, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, ethnicity, or religion.

We invite all of our participants to help us realize a safe, positive and rewarding event for everyone by abiding by the CIO Initiative Code of Conduct.

Any attendee or speaker engaged in behavior contrary to this CIO Code of conduct will be asked to leave and be barred from attending further sessions and future events.

It is expected that all attendees and speakers:

  1. Will maintain a respectful and professional manner that will reasonably create a conducive and supportive learning environment for all CIO Initiative Attendees speakers, organizers and location staff.
  2. Will not engage in disruptive speech or behavior or otherwise interfere with any portion of or any individuals’ participation and/or enjoyment in the event.
  3. Will not engage in any form of harassing, offensive, discriminatory, or threatening speech or behavior, including, but not limited to, race, gender, gender identity and expression, national origin, religion, disability, marital status, age, sexual orientation, military or veteran status, or other legally protected category.
  4. Will comply with the instructions of the moderator and any CIO Initiative event staff.
  5. Will comply with all applicable laws, including but not limited to, federal, state, and local laws and all conference policies.
